Years ago, we used to play water polo

Updated: Nov 13, 2025

Years ago, we used to play water polo.

But only today did I realize that, back then, all we really did was issue the birth certificate of the game.

And I can’t deny—many people worked hard to bring the sport to our country, to introduce it and play it.

Those were beautiful days, with all their ups and downs.

But honestly, we weren’t playing it the right way.

Real water polo starts when you build a team that truly understands the game…

Understands how to play, what’s yours and what’s not,

Understands when to stop at the mistake—and not to push it too far.

I’m speaking now because only today I realized:

If water polo is to truly take off, it needs a solid foundation from the ground up,

And a system that guides the players—one that holds them accountable,

but also protects them.

Over the past three years, I’ve learned a lot.

You could say I was the “lab rat.”

And I still say: the mission isn’t over.

Today… I didn’t just understand the game,

Today, I started writing its next chapter.

A chapter with a real team, a clear dream, and a system that respects every player.

If back then we wrote the birth certificate of water polo,

Today—we begin writing its future.
